Patel Practices "Lawfare," lousy lawyer tries to clog the courts

Kash Patel, the next dangerously incompetent and unqualified national security nominee up for a hearing, has spent most of the last four years not honing his skills in law enforcement, but promoting the stolen election conspiracy and filing junk lawsuits.

Patel's "Lawfare" strategy involved raising and spending charitable funds to file frivolous lawsuits contesting the 2020 election and allegedly paying the legal fees of J6 convicts. In the process, several courts found Patel lacking in basic legal skills. Senators should think long and hard before they rubber stamp another inexperienced political hack for a key national security position. Here are a few facts that reveal the depth of Patel's lack of legal skill:

  • A Judge Issued an “Order of Ineptitude” Against Patel After Calling him a “Nonessential Employee.” “‘Who is this Patel guy?’ Judge Lynn Hughes asked the government’s lawyers, criticizing one of them for letting Patel use his account to enter his notice of appearance in the case. Later in his chambers, the judge ripped into Patel for not wearing a suit and tie, telling him he didn’t add a ‘bit of value’ to the government’s team and accused Patel of being a ‘spy’ for his bosses in DC. ‘You’re just one more nonessential employee from Washington,’ said Hughes, who later doubled down by issuing an “order on ineptitude” on Patel and his Justice Department colleagues and putting the episode in the court record.” [CNN, 12/9/24]
  • “The Court finds that Mr. Patel was not a credible witness.” [NORMA ANDERSON, et al vs JENA GRISWOLD, Case No 2023CV32577, Order dated November 17, 2023]
  • “On FightWithKash.com, you basically, you can send in a summary of your case. We review it for free with the legal team. I’m a recovering lawyer. I’m not good at that crap, but I got smart guys that I met along the way that will look at that for free. And they’ll be like, I think you got a case against Twitter, Facebook, the Times, small media publication, whatever, and then I’ll cut the check out of Fight With Kash for their legal fees. And they’re up and running.” [Drinkin’ Bros podcast, 11/10/21] VIDEO, Minute 26
  • Question: Am I correct that you’re a recovering lawyer? Patel. “Yes.” [...] “I have not practiced law in maybe close to a decade.” [DONALD J. TRUMP, Petitioner, v. NORMA ANDERSON, ET AL] VIDEO HERE
  • I got bad grades in law school. I spent years as an unknown public defender. Yet for some unplanned reason, I ended up being the lead investigator who uncovered the greatest political scandal in American history—and for seven years now, I have been on the front line in every single major battle that the Deep State has waged against the American system of self-government.” [Government Gangsters]
